1) Does overclocking void your warentee?

If no is the answer dont worry bout the rest of my questions.

2) If you overclock and undercool there fore fry your cpu but you havnt unlocked it can you get a rma?

3) If your cpu is factory unlockd and you change the fsb and multies and after 7 or so months of intence benchmarking ect your cpu dies can you get a rma?

if both answers are no do the following question.

4) But you can allways say you didnt overclock it cany you? Or is there some strange way they can find out?

ok cooll, now the fun starts.

If you buy a unlockd xp how the **** are they going to know you overclocked it to some crazy speeds and had it running at 60 - 70 *c 24/7!? Altho maby the core colour will fade ect but if you say you didnt overclock it what can they do about it?

Yes, eg: running a cpu at 150mhz FSB instead of 133mhz void's your warranty...

2) If you overclock and undercool there fore fry your cpu but you havnt unlocked it can you get a rma?

If they discover you have overclocked it, or they know you are too blame eg: you told them you put the heatsink on incorrectly then you won't get an rma..

If they can't tell that a) you've overclocked it or b) it's your fault.. and if c) you don't tell them then yeah, you'll probably get away with it..

3) If your cpu is factory unlockd and you change the fsb and multies and after 7 or so months of intence benchmarking ect your cpu dies can you get a rma?

See above

4) But you can allways say you didnt overclock it cany you? Or is there some strange way they can find out?

Depends your morals and ethics.. not everybody is man (or woman) and rich enough to just take it when they break/fry/stuff up parts. I've had parts die before but I've never caused the dying by overclocking too far.. so I haven't really have cause to test my morals...

Sometimes it is obvious a cpu has been overclocked, eg if you have removed the sticker over the L1 bridges that says "warranty void if removed" .. or there are burn and sorch marks on the cpu...

Remember most computer parts only have a 1year warranty, so you're lucky if it's still under warranty anyway...

yeah im pondering if i should overclock if i get a new cpu, im lookig at a 1800, thats round as far as my budget will reach, il look for a good ocer eg; tbred a ect.

But i dont really want to overclock then stuff it up.

Ive already stuffed my duron, i dont know why it screwd itself, not from ocing tho but i have voided the warentee witch is a big bummer. i think its screwd i still have to make sure it is.

So i was really wondering if you overclock it sensibly and cool appropriatley and somthing goes wrong not linked to the overclocking you can still get a replacement.

If i break it i wouldnt ask for a rma, it just not me, but if it breaks and i feel i havnt done anything wrong or it shouldnt have broken id want a rma, but then i shouldnt overclock should i?

And if i break somthing it wouldnt have burn marks ect on it because im not stupid enough to cool it unadiquitly or reach silly temps. 50*c core temp underload is the max for me.

So pretty much im just wondering if it breaks and there is no physical damage and you say you didnt overclock how much they can do about it.
