I am yet to try Dungeon Siege, but apparently it gets boring very quickly...

I've played Morrowind for some time, love it to bits, but my machine needs a little more grunt to be perfectly happy with it...and I can see the average person getting bored with it. Its basically Severance meets Biadlo 2 or similar.

Or something :)

In conclusion, go to GameStation or CentralPark or something similar and ask to trial one or other, or both, or neither. :)

[baby hug back]

I went out and bought it today. I played it for a few hours straight and didn't get bored of it [I didn't get bored of Diablo 2's hacking mouse thing either]

Will try it in a few days ...

Ugh, diablo2, one of the biggest time wasters of my formative years.
Got a lvl 99 paladin on that, then thanks to quantum *mutters* it is no more.....
Anyway.
Dungeon siege kicks ass, but alas i havent been able to play it much, as im on a tnt2.
It was damn addictive, playing on a duron 750 and an MX.
Very low fps but the gameplay made up for it.
The plot is pretty much a joke, but lots of fun action :D

yeah i like it, and the gfx are nice when ya turn everything up :D
plus Chris Taylor was the man behind this (guy who did TA) so of course it'll be good :D

Quite a good game but it lacks a great story like DiabloII....

Later on some of the duller areas are way too long, while the cool looking areas are short

Overall a good game kept me addicted for the first half, the 2nd half wasn't as good but it was good enough to make me want to finish it.

Doesn't have much pulling power in terms of replay value.. I didn't want to go onto the next difficulty and do it all again straight away like some games..

Its called "time flies when youre having fun" ;)

my opinion on this game:
single player: boring at times, kickass at other times, but beautiful graphics all throughout
multiplayer: BORING, like zzzzzzzzzzzzz material...

This game is sweet, I got it on a saturday, started playing on the sunday, then I finished the game on the Thursday. Although I never really was pulled to play multiplayer or do the game again.

A recent game which I do recommend buying is GTA3, I had it on my bro's PS2 and finished t. I have completed the main missions on pc as well. Also there must be extra stuff to do on PC as when on PS2 I had finished about 60%, I have done more stuff and am only on 48% on pc

Yeah, i finished it last weekend so i could concentrate on the UT2003 demo (which still isnt freaking out).
I really enjoyed it, normally im a FPS or RTS gamer, but i thought it was quite fun.
Not really interested in the multiplayer though - im scared ill get addicted to it - must...focus...on...UT2003.... :D

i got teh dungeon siege.
its my fav game at the moment, my guy has THE meanest axe!
adds 1 to nature magic
2 to strength
takes 1 from combat magic (or is it dexterirty?)
deals 150-200 (approx) damage
needs 42 strength

:D

it litterally brings new meaning to the term
"its skull bustin time" when it comes to the skeleton mercenaries :)

note: my character is not a dwarf, just squashed a little :)

At first I liked this game, but now I think its as boring as something really boring

My m8 is trying to reach elite diff, man it takes so long and is so tds!! unlike Diablo2 the enemies in DS are extremely stupid and only cause damage they have no spells/abilites which slow u down, reduce your defence or anything!!

Last time I played DS I fell asleep, I was fighting in Quilrabe and by the time I had woken up my m8's had made it to Grescal by walking/fighting all the monsters

*Looks at p01s0n_p1e's character*, "you've got a long way to go IMO"
I think my Dwarf is lvl 72 (elite diff is like lvl 84)

My m8's chars are around lvl 78, 1 melee guy, 2 wizards casting about lvl 100 spells.

The melee guy has the best type of body armour for the 2nd difficulty (needs 77 str I think).

hmmmmm, so who would be interested in having an OCNZ game of DS sometime???
heck, we could even run a MP game at the next L3, see how much we finish in a weekend :D

Eh? I've played multiplayer 5 hours straight and not got bored! I then had to go to sleep as it was 5 in the morning...

My chars lvl 60, Grand Warlock. Hasn't lvl'd up for a while cause I ain't been playing much... Too boring without other ppl.
Its pretty cool when yer doing a quest, or going for some sort of objective... Otherwise it's crap boring...

So now that your all board with DS, how many of you are planning on getting Neverwinter Nights?
Both SySteM and myself are really looking foward to it and it would be cool if a few L3 members were going to get it aswell,
I'm hoping to go to #5 or #6 but will depend of if I can get up to ChCh.
The Dungeon Master feature looks way cool.

How many of you guys were/are actual D&D players?

I am a RPG gamer, mainly D&D, but at the moment our group is not as active as it was, work commitments, and one off overseas etc

So does that mean your looking foward to NWN?

At the moment I'm more looking to upgrade my computer than get the latest games which will probably choke on my current machine, just need to find a big ol' pile of cash somewhere and it will all fall into place...

Nah, I'm not really into RPG's as a rule.
It was only a matter of coincidence that I got into DS.
Only other RPG I've ever liked is Deus Ex, but I'm not sure if that counts. :D

heh, coincidence? i think not

at the hub that day
me: wanna play Ds, its real cool you can do this and this and this, i got the *ahem* cd right here
nna2m: no, it looks crap

later that day, or next morning at 1am
me: so what we gonna play now?
nna2m: wanna play Ds?
me: hell yes, lets go biatch

we then played the multiplayer map for 5 hours straight...

Dungeon Siege ROCKS :D
This has to be the most addictive game I have ever played, makes Diablo 2 look very sad and I'm up to 37 hours.

It's a very pretty little Diablo 2 clone. Unfortunately it was always going to suffer the fate of Diablo 1 as far as cheatingh online goes :( Which is sad because it means it will never get much playtime online from me. A LAN only game.

On the upside the Siege editor has a hell of a lot of potential for creating some great campaigns.

Normal, wtf is normal.. crank it up!!

Just clocked it in a hair under 19 hours.
*rubs eyes*
Its, a fun game, but not a memorable one.
The ending was....yeah, that kinda sums it up.
Kinda reminded me of that game "Rune" in a few places.
Pretty gfx tho......

Need more gametime to get a TRUE feel for it (not really played long enough yet, thats what happens when you have to work every so often), but I'd have to say I am REALLY enjoying it so far. Gets a tad choppy during BIG battles (Running on a GeF2 MX, no wonder) but looks glorious etc etc etc. I been playing RPGs (paper and PC) since the 80's too, so have reasonable background to compare (ever since the original Pools Of Radiance)

So are you moving on to NWN??

Is it just me or does anyone else think ~$100 is a little expensive for 20 hours gameplay (obviously excluding MP)?

SilverPriest

I'll move onto NWN when i can afford to :(
DS is a $50 game @ best.....

It's how much i think it's worth, tops.
Great engine 'n all, just a lacklustre overhyped game.

That's why I think NWN is a better bet.

I played the DS demo but their wasn't much new to it. Fun, but not worth my hard earned dosh.
