No point in gigabit ethernet if your copying to/from standard IDE 7200rpm ATA100 drives..

lol Ragnor, havn't you ever heard of the 'My wang is larger than yours' theory?
I understand about the drive speed, but its neat to say to someone "Yeah, I just installed my gigabit NIC, you know 10/100/1000? Whats that, you only have a 10/100 setup? Gee, that seems a little slow..."
My mate was really peeved when I told him that, lol. I got a gigabit NIC from work as a perk a while back. Traded it for something when I saw the price of the gigabit switches. :)

obviously with a standard 7200rpm HD it wont fully utilise gigabyte ethernet but it will certainly be faster than 100mbit ethernet....
IR if you have 10/100 nics then just get a crossover cable and bypass the 10mbit hub...... guess you already moved out though? :D
