Hi doods,

About 2 or 3 months ago i got 2754 3dmarks.

Now, between that time and now my 3dmarks have been decreasing to the point where i only get 2000 odd.

Since then the only upgrade i've done is got rid of my 2 17.2gig raided 5400rpm drives and got 2 20gig raided 7200rpm drives which should have up my results slightly if anything.

Whats going on?

Someone said it could be my power supply? I have a 300w running 2 harddrives, an athlon 1200 on a a7v133, a cd rom, an lcd display, some el cable, 2 x 60mm fans, 2 x 80mm fans, 1 x 120mm fan, and a titan vga cooler.

cheers

Lol - NOTHING to do with your PSU.

And NOTHING to do with your hardware ( assuming your overclocks are the same ), as your hard-drives won't do jack for you in 3DMark unless you had 64MB of RAM or something lame....

Let me guess, you HAVE changed the software on your PC ( OS/drivers/background programs/services ) in that time? :)

Hmmmmm..... ;)

Just thought the psu may be causing some hardware not to function properly but ohwell.
All i've done software wise was format and reinstall everything.

So let me get this straight.

You've got a different OS install, and hence different installs ( and possibly versions ) of every driver in the system?

And you suspect a PSU?? Heh, drivers and software make faaarrrrr more difference to performance than hardware. A poorly setup system software-wise can easily score half what an optimise system will ( let alone systems set up exactly unoptimally ;) ).

Think, young Padawan. Cast your mind back, you shall. Seek to remember what detonators you were using you will. Let the force guide you....

And yes, my 300W runs my Athlon 1.4 with a Ti4600 and 2 hard-drives and a burner and a DVD fine, just in case you were wondering ( though yes, PSU quality could play just as much of a part ;) ).

I agree with king jackal, I optimized a friends system and got an extra 3000 3Dmarks:eek:

Subaru_Fan:

1. make sure you have the most aggressive ram timings you can.
2. drivers - latest via 4in1's + 23.12 detonators (fastest for gf2/3's) and use Rivatuner (put mipmapping on 1.5)
3. run msconfig, disable everything;)
4. Overclock it!!

Hope that helped.

yes, install off the SAME cd, and SAME nvidia driver.

Anyhoo, im more worried about how to fix it rather than what apparently isnt the problem.

and dont mock me about suggesting the psu, it wasnt my idea and im having a bad day! grrrr  :) :p
