Hi guys,

Has anyone seen this product in NZ? http://www.lifeview.com.tw/eng/pro_media_ftbox.html

So far I have not seen anything of that sought, here.

haven't seen them locally - but i did catch a review in the latest atomic which kidda trashes it.
Sore point were
- pass through degrades pic quality
- Full screen TV image was pixilated (even worse in picture-in-picture mode)
- Pic-in-pic mode affects rest of desktop
- cannot handle more that 1024x768
4/10

I have VIVO and I cant be bothered fiddling with tv cards....the last one I had was sooo crap.

What can I use for a external tuner?

A VCR should work fine. Worked fine for me.

Yeah any old VCR should do the trick....my TV used to be an old Amiga monitor (coz they have RCA inputs) plugged into a POS video.....worked just fine :D

It was the pixelview playtv pro....I find the tuning and the reception on those tuners are not that good.

I even have an amplified antena and its still so crap

I've found the tuner on my flyvideo '98 to be prety ****ty. So I just reverted to using a vcr as the tuner and used the video in on the card. But sudden scene changes always result in horizontal lines that flick over the screen.

Next time I'll just be getting a vivo graphics card. Think it will be the radeon 9700 AIW. Just need to see a few more reviews on it yet tho before I decide.
