No doubt KJ will be here soon to impart his wisdom upon us all. :p

But am I right in saying that ALL (?) GF4 Ti4200's come with DVI AND the standard monitor output ?

What I'm getting at is, when I get my new rig....will I be able to run 2 monitors off the GF4 leaving Ol' Faithful (My beloved Banshee) free to, oh say, run a 3rd monitor :D

If so....looks like my server will have to go monitorless :p

Nview :D is teh feature! I don't know if all GF4 4200 ship with a DVI but all the ones I've seen do..... just make sure when you get that new card that it does ;)

ALL GeForce4 cards support dual display. ALL of them have dual independant RAMDACs, both at 400MHz. And both displays should be able to be run at 2046x1536@60Hz IIRC.

However, I have yet to see a single store in NZ stock dual-out GeForce4 MX cards ( plenty of brands do it, PNY, Visiontek just to name two ) :(.

And I have yet to see a single store in NZ stock non dual-out GeForce4 Ti cards. The thing is, on a high-end card like a Ti, you don't save much by getting rid of that secondary output. Also, most brands ( not all ) use the secondary as a DVI port, which is a real seller for high-end cards ( as people are now buying LCD displays ).

Some brands provide dual analogue outputs. But if you're buying in NZ, all the Ti's I've seen have a DVI port as their secondary output. This IS an issue - most of these secondary ports cannot do res' over 1600x1200, so if you're gonna get a 24" CRT, don't bother ( as if, hehe ).

...which reminds me, I've yet to test this Ti4600 I've got plugged in's secondary abilities - see what refresh rates it can do at 1600.....

Doh! too busy.... :(

Umm well there are some dual-out MX460's floating about, mainly MSI ones.

Where the heck did you get a Ti4600 from, what brand. *wonders where the lost/found thread is*

You would think they could manage to include a DVI convertor, but quite a few didn't bother.

Can remember who did and who didn't though.........

I think about $15 from JayCar (www.jaycar.com.au) which is located on Kyber Pass by the motorway on/off ramp ;)

my Leadtek Ti4600 did not come with a DVI / VGA adaptor... yet I have read a review where it was included in the box... maybe for different markets..

In most cases the DVI adapter is 'optional'. Like super-audio cards with Iwill mobo's etc.

So some cards will ship with it, and some won't. It's really all up to the importers ;).

If you're worried, I'd just suggest giving whatever retailer you've chosen a bell/email and asking - they should be able to check for ya :).
