oh, shiney!!!
and when do we get the reveiw???
what's the story with the capactiors right in the way of the heatsink clip? cause a midi atx will have the PSU right above, and you can't clip on the heatsink while the mobo is in the case?
what do you think about that?
The review should be up in the next two weeks or so. Beware that there are stability issues with the boards, as it took several attemps to complete the benchmark.
N: I am not too sure about the capacitors blocking HSF clips. This sort of layout has been used on several MBs in the past, e.g. all of Abit MBs and I don't hear pp complaining. You just need to remove the PSU to install the HSF.
The initial benchmark looks rather promising. It's as good as the fastest KT-400MB, using only 1 stick of memory. However, there seems to be some stability issue with the board. It took several attemps to finish some of the benchmarks.
hmm.. A promising looking board but not mature yet. BTW, it doesn't even have any sort of protection against CPU overheating, not to mention reading temp from the on-die sensor.

No new bios revisions or anything you can try Hans?
What bios are you using now?
Is the SPP an engineering sample or the production one?
Nvidia also released some new drivers for the nf1 & 2 boards recently....
Does it have a PCI Lock option?
I've read a lot of contradictory information on that.....
Check this thread (http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115658) out :)
What memory are you using to benchmark with incidentally?
BIOS: 1001.C (Asus did not release any other BIOSes on their site)
Driver dated: 20 Nov 2002.
The board is a production one.
I don't know if the board has PCI lock or not as there is nothing in the BIOS indicates that. I haven't check out the OCAU forum as I can't be bothered to be registered. Maybe later today. :)
Sandra Bench: 2056Int / 1914Float.
oh, I would suggest pp to wait and see for the nF2 MBs. Most manufacturers stopped updating the BIOSes for the oroginal nF1 boards coz the user base is too small. Now a days, an AMD board without BIOS update is as good as dead. (Due to all these new CPUs). Whereas most are still updating the BIOSes for the KT-266A MBs.
If Nvidia and manufacturers don't get their acts together, nF2 is just going to be another "hyped" product. I don't see true overclockers buying the current nF2 boards as they are all crappy in a way. (maybe except A7N8X)
However, the lack of on-die monitoring and stability really annoys me. Maybe things would be a bit better with future BIOS releases and board revisions but I don't want to shell out couple of hundreds and be a beta tester for the manufacturers.

certainly sounds interesting looking at those figures, but do you wanna please enlighten us all a little on these stability issues?
or is it a case of wait till the review?!
