My Kingmax PC2700 is CAS 2.5 - but that doesn't stop me from changing the memory settings in BIOS so that it runs @ CAS 2.
It will run sweet @ CAS 2 up to 176MHz FSB.

Well, the experiance i had with Kingston PC-2700 DDR was good, they run 133mhz fsb (266 effectively) @ CAS 2-2-2, and about 150mhz fsb CAS 2-2-2 before they start getting funny

LOL - I'll bet the Corsair PC2700 could cruise past 170 @ 2-2-2-5.
Even my old Corsair XMS PC-150 ( rated for 150 @ cas 2 ) could do 164+ @ 2-2-2-5 ( never found an SDR mobo that could go higher to test on :( ).
BTW, PC2700 I rated for 166 CAS 2.5, or 150 CAS2, so you'd d@mn well hope the Kingston could do 150 CAS2. A MHz less and you could RMA it!! ;) :p

I'm getting some Corsair ram I think ... so in 2 weeks, I can help you out... but they are DDR333 which I think is PC2700 @ Cas 2 ... but I reackon they can do higher than DDR333 Mhz.
I will see soon enough...

Grant sell samsun TCB3 for $200ish mine does 192@ cas2 @ 2.8v its grrrreat, and cheap too..most of the good ram is made from it.
BTW I think I read some reviews that had the corsair not OC as well as previous incarnations..so do some resarch first :)
mushkin with samsung chips is the fastest I've seen 215mhz cas2 (the highest the board would go)
I got a few more Corsair XMS-3000 to play with yesterday and they oc just as well as the one I reviewed.

i agree, corsair XMS3000 is prob the best so to get, but its damn expensive...its seems like no one sells it properly in NZ - i.e. only stocks them sometimes
www.dragonpc.co.nz has some.

yea, but look at the price....$439, i think its a bit to expensive for me.....i could get 2 sticks of kingmax of samsung for less than that..and get way more performace for having 512mb ram...

n e one had n e experience with Kingmax DDR-400? wot kinda speeds could i get to with that at CAS2?
Yeah, it's not cheap. But u can't have McLaren @ Toyota price. :) :) :) I think that's the cheapest Corsiar in NZ, as of now.
/edit oops, typo, thank you KJ /edit

Depends.
If the Corsair gives you another 10MHz on your fsb, you'll probably get more performance from the Corsair rig than the 512Mb rig. I know that at least as far as 3DMark scores go, the 10MHz will give you far, far more than the extra 256MB ;). Just an idea....
Yeah, it's not cheap. But u can't have McLearn @ Toyota price.
McLaren? :D
Do not expect the Kingmax DDR-400 to do any wonder for you.
It's FSB max out around 180 or less mark under 2-2-2.
As for 2.5-3-3, I may have maxed out my KR7A, 200MHz.
Wait for a week or so, when we will update our ram review again. This time with Kingmax DDR-400 and Corsair VS-2100.
