bf1942 clan ?

Hi

Saw somebody with a [ocnz] nick when playing bf1942 online so I guess you guys have a clan. I'm keen to find a clan that plays using Roger Wilco or similar, anybody here do that ?

[OCNZ] isn't a formal clan ( see the thread right up the top of this 'Gaming' forum ;) (http://forums.overclockers.co.nz/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42) ), and as such we don't use RW/TS/etc.

I don't really play BF1942, so I'm not entirely sure on the clan scene - but I'd guess there'd be several pro clans here in NZ for it.

Otherwise if you don't need a pro clan, look over some of the BF1942 threads here, and you'll soon see where [OCNZ] are at....

ICBM, we dont use Roger Wilco or Teamspeak (yet) we basically just go online and thrash everyone else using good ol' ingame commands, and teamchat. ;)

There is a clan tournament coming up late november/early december(?) that [OCNZ] are fielding a team in.

In saying that though, our first 'test the water' practice is tomorrow from lunchtime onwards, probably on either EANZ (b) or Gameplanet. If you or anyone wants to come have a bit of a jam you are more than welcome - the more the merrier. *evil grin*

Any opponent team is good if:

- they know the maps well
- they force you to play clan-style ( rather than pubs-style )
- they work well as a team
- it's hard to get flags off them
- they still just can't.... quite.... beat.... you :D :D

Hmmm - I should probably be working on setting you guys up more formally in BF. Should get an RW/TS channel up sometime in the future....

i find when wibber is about it becomes extrememly difficult to get first place. however he goes to bed around 3am usuallyu, i think. then its much easier. :D

yeah there may be better games in so far as the actual engine goes..but standing on the point top on iwo-jima watching that huge japenese battleship cruising by right under us and getting shelled by same and the planes making bombing runs over us..while were trying to knock out the lower def gun .that damn battleship and all the troops and planes at once...awesomely intense...

Teamspeak would be a neat idea, and an awesome tool the only problem is actually getting all the guys together on the one day, one time on the one server.
Maybe as we progress a bit further and the tourny gets closer we can look into that.

3 from 12 players wasn't the greatest first attempt at a practice. Maybe next time we can get more on. ;)
I'm not so sure about using communication s/w. If you notice in the specs, the more players there are on a server, the more bandwidth the clients require to connect. Modem users are recommended to only connect to a server with a max of 16 players. :eek:
Once we have tactics sorted, we shouldn't need com s/w anyway.
