For the people that have not seen what I have dun go here (http://forums.overclockers.co.nz/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3037)
System spes
Asus A7N266-VM (jumper mod for O/C )
XP1800 (NOT UNLOCKED)
Asus GF4 8420
I did a jumper mod so I could unlock the clocking features in the BIOS.
I did a 3D Marks 2k1 test at 150 FSB and got 11888, then I jumped up to 152 and got 12118…..big jump for an increase of 2 FSB :D
Still in beta stage :)
What do u think???
Is that the ti4200 which has the ti4600 pcb?
If so I think 13k is a safebet if you're using the 40 series drivers.
I don't know if unlocking will help. Depends on the stepping of you cpu.

The video is a ASUS V8420D /64MB/TV/DVI not the Deluxe 128MB :(
there is no room for the Deluxe to fit in the case :(

lol... i just got this mobo for my HTPC. Had no intention of overclocking it (cause I thought it was a bad oc'er)... but I might have to reconsider now :)

I think unlocking that XP is your next mission if you choose to accept it..... Especially since the nvidia mobo's keep the PCI bus @ 33MHz - no matter how high you set the FSB.

reckon... it's quite possible to top 170MHz FSB on that board with the right RAM... if you can manage a vmem mod you could even get as high as 200MHz FSB...

For the jumper mod all you have to do is to unsolder a jumper and move it and resolder it :)
but you need the 1001 bios in for it to work
here is a pic

Holly cow. :)
I use this board soley as a Seti cruncher. OC'ing it would be a nice benefit.
You say only version 1001 bios works? Rats mine is 1004. Any link to the 1001 version? :)

Ok _N_ the blue line in the picture below is were the junmper used to be
and here is were you can find the 1001 (ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/socka/nforce220/a7n266-vm/101nvm.zip) bios
the things is, what does it do when you change the jumpers, does it allow you to OC, whereas you weren't before? that seems a bit strange to me, cause ASUS has always been oc friendly,
I can see this:
"unlock the clocking features in the BIOS"
so you weren't able to oc before? I haven't seen this board before, so it's interesting to know these things, :)
