View Full Version : MSN Messenger Error!! HELP!!

I have no idea is going on here, I had to reinstall WinXP Pro due to my hdd crashing on me. The installation went sweet everything seemed to be running well.. I went to go and use MSN, yeahs its working alright.. I go to update.. blah blah all done. When I go and try to IM somone it just comes up wif this:
Username is having network problems and is no longer in the conversation. The last few messages may not have been received.
Ive tried IMing a number of ppl but all the same error...its my main form of contact wif friends and really need it up and running again.. Please anyhelp much apperciated!! :) :) :) :)

the system was shut down for mantienance earlier, try now

It shows everyone is online, put when I got to IM them it just comes up wif that msg

try removing windows messenger and installing msn messenger, also try trillian...

Ive tried Trillan still nothing, Ive tried reinstall XP still nothing its everytime I update my MSN Messenger :(!

Anybody know where I can find a earlier version of MSN Messenger?

what version do you want? PM me an email address and can email you either 2.2 (~300k) or 3.6 (~800k).

Thnx swifty, but I updated Trillan and it seemed to get MSN going - Im yet to get the actually MSN Messenger going though :\

MSN have changed some stuff with their servers. So now only the latest versions of Trillian will work with MSN now.
Luckily MSN put out a notification about the server changes. So that Trillian could get sorted straight away.

its actually surprising to hear that, especially knowing of trillian's battle with AOL. for once its MS that are the good guys! :eek: :p

d00d, i sometimes get this, and my mate gets it all the time. We have put it down to ur connection. Whenever i start using the connection for something else really heavy i.e. downloading heaps o' crap, it does this. I dont know why it does, it shouldnt, but it does. Its even worse with my mate coz he has a real crap connection - hes real far away from the exchange

hmm dont think its a connection prob on my part - Im on cable + I had it working before like I said, its just when i updated it it seemed to fux0r on me. Well Im running trillan for now, it will have to do :>
