(1)when i first installed my water cooling i had nightmares for several nights. that horrible fear that it was dripping/leaking inside the case meant i got poor sleep.
but im over that now
anybody else have similar experiences?
well, the first time I connected up the block up to the water hose just to see what's it like, I had towels around everywhere just in case, :D

Nope, I didn't care, I connected it up, and watched it for a while to make sure there were no drips. That was after pressure testing it, simply by submersing it in water, connecting tube, and blowing really hard into the system and watching for bubbles. Did any one else do something similar?
Man you must have big lungs or did you get really dizzy after? :p

i tested mine outside the case pumping overnight to make sure there were no leaks... there weren't so i threw it together and it's all been good from there.
when i got my heatercore i didn't even bother testing for leaks (except a crude 30 second test to make sure my soldering skills on the brass barbs was adequate)... and i haven't had any problems. well, except for an incident when i was running a little plastic pottle resevoir sitting just next to my case and the cat knocked it over... oh and the time the cat ripped through the wires powering the fans on my heatercore :D
I left my closed loop system running outside the case over night, no leaks so i was sweet. I can't say I ever lost sleep but I usually got out of my bed and checked my computer for leaks first thing each morning for a couple of days. Leaks didn't start showing up until a month later though :), first leak was from a loose screw on the water block I discovered this after my PC wouldn't post, water and antifreeze was in the socket pin holes and between the shim and cpu and on my mobo, I dried it all up with paper and used a heater. sealed block and I was away again.
Next leak was even worse, I rebuilt the water cooling system but failed to do up a hose clamp properly. water leaked into my AGP slot, all over my GF4, Soundcard and capture card I was without a beasty PC for 2 weeks as it took that long for my mobo to dry properly and run stable. I got the GF4 replaced, sound card and capture card were fine but my sound card solder joins are starting to rust quite bad now, I don't expect it to last too much longer.
Since I swaped my water cooling gear into my new case 7 or 8 weeks ago, i've had no trouble since, as this time round I did proper checks and sealed all hose joints with silicone sealant.
It's been a long time since i've worried about leaks, I guess theres 0% change of me getting a leak now.

Heh, I left mine running with a bucket as a res for about 4 days :D
I found myself looking for leaks and feeling all the connections for quite a while
Im very cautious, So I decided to do a test to find out how long the water would keep the CPU at a reasonable temperature without the pump on. Answer: Around 40min! Quite surprising... Temp topped out a 55 degree's then I switched it off :p:
