Well while I was doing some research on watercooling, I came across this (http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?s=&threadid=102365) from our Australian counterparts.

Seems just a straight watercooling setup is not the most effective. You still need a case fan, or something to move a bit of air about inside the case. I know it's not rocket surgery and a 120mm fan @ 7V would be quiet and more than ample.....but it thought it was interesting none the less.

Maybe some of you guys on water can try it out and let us know what results you get.

Well I run two 120mm Panaflo's on my rad at around 3-4volts using my homemade rheo bus. running the fans at 12volts only gives around 4C cooler temps.

sern, what rad do you have?

Holden HQ heatercore, dunno what year though, it's 240 x 150 x 50mm

yeah i notice that too. i used to run an 80mm fan @ 7V just above my CPU socket simply as a precaution, and it did have an effect on temps. i've now got a small 60mm @ 7V sitting on my massive northbridge heatsink (:D) which creates enough wash around the CPU socket area to keep me satisfied.

i also run a similar setup to Sern, with a heatercore and 2 x 120mm fans @ 5V, and have observed almost identical findings when running the fans @ 12V (i.e. not worth it for the volume increase, that's for sure :p).

i'm sure i used to speak english ;)

the problem i have is. "g-force4 ti4400 makes a lot of heat"
so i have to have the case fans on to make sure the case interior doesnt go to high. that makes a large difference to my cpu temperature over time also.
