I heard in forums that the 17" one is ok and they are $50 less than Phillips with similar specs, I was thinking of getting the 19" 9klr true flat screen for $650 odd, anyone used one?

I was gonna get an auriga 19" but I heard its blurry and if the AOC 19" is as good as the 17" ones sound might be the go.
I know KJ will say u get what u pay for ;P but they seem good value .

I've never tried large Auriga's or AOC's.

Only Philips', Mitsubishis, Viewsonics, Proviews, IBMs, Sonys and MAGs. :(

D@MNIT - wish I could get a job for a hardware retailer. I'd get to try all these other brands out! lol.... ;)

Hardley Normals pay pretty well I have heard. I work in that industry part time - I normally get between $15-20 an hour. A lot more moeny at Hardley though - around $10-13 retainer and then 5-10% GP commission. Thats about $20-40 an hour if you sell like a maniac. "no this is how joo doo eet" Heh hee!

A good question is what 19" compromises the best mix between image and $ for somebody who is cheap? What $ would you pay to get the same kwality as a cheap philips 17" flat in a 19"?

I got an AOC 7Klr recently (17") And its a lot better than the price would indicate.
True flat screen, .21 dot pitch and resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 !

*note: not officially supported, but my drivers allow it

High frequencies too...

Its certinly got the features of a much more expensive brand.

Heh, I saw a 17" CTX today (new) that can only do 1280x768, in other words the Klr series offer features that used to be avalible on only the most expensive monitors.

Have you checked http://www.aocmonitor.com/default.asp ?

I know a couple of ppl with them. They swear by them for quality and correctness of colour. Seem to be on of the best value for money brands. :)

One or two budget 19" - Auriga, Proview, AOC, Philips, V.Sonic would be a really useful review.

I don't wanna get greedy though :D

Treated myself to AOC 7klr (17' pure flat screen) at christmas, and it seems to be an impressive monitor for the $$

Colors are sharp and vibrant and supports high resolutions/frequencies.

Ive got another two friends with AOC, one is 7glr, about two years old? And it still has a great picture, with no faults.
Other got a 7klr like mine and he is really stoaked too.

Can't say I'd personally use that setting but it is one hell of a feature.
I'm seriously looking at their 19" models instead of Philips or Viewsonic.

The 7Klr most certainly is nice. I'd definitely give a larger one a go.

Just stumbled upon these fellows the other day.

Some nice AOC prices:

Is that bit about .21 for real? If so that's so damn good. Most monitors I've seen are .25 to .27

check out the AOC site.

From memory that is the horizontal (or possibly vert) dp.

Holy crap those NFC prices are low, if you've had any dealings with them are they wholesalers only? Do they sell to general public?

DiscoStu

I'm not too sure.

I think they sell to the public, otherwise the price list wouldn't be as easily visable.
