Good morning...

I'm going to unlock my 1ghz duron properly with a conductive pen, the pencil craps out after awhile...

Just wondering where the best/cheapest place to get one is?

DSE sell them, dont know of anywhere else.. you could try SICOM (http://www.sicom.co.nz)

Hmm, you are in Auckland, i would give JayCar (www.jaycar.co.nz) a go as well.

I got mine from DSE in Onehunga Mall. I think it was $34.

Did you spot that in the radiative forum?? :D

Jaycar has got teh silver laquer which is only $10 whereas the conductive pen from DSE is >$23.... IMHO the Silver laquer takes a bit longer but gives better results than the pen :)

Pencil must be extremely unreliable...or else you didnt make a decent line.

I used the WORLDS SHIZERIST pencil, an H I think, with a knife sharpened tip, and a crappy business card for a ruler, in crap light, and I have only had to do it once...technically twice, but the first time I never even bothered trying it in the pc, because I could see it was a fat thick line, I must have been trying to draw myself.

Anyway, I'm amazed at the amount of people who say that pencil doesnt work, or it works intermittently etc...mine worked fine first time...I am sure I could squeeze some more out of this puppy, but I need better RAM and probably need to rip out all the PCI cards...


ANYWAY ANYWAY...my point is, I did a REALLY rushed job, without any real planning and got the result, so you guys must be seriously trying to draw the lines freehand or something...

The pencil is alright but I want the almightly conductive pen for when I get meh an XP...

Yeah i thought that would be its main purpose... is DSE the best place to get them in CHCH?
