Hi, Im wondering if I could get some advice on this case mod design. In pic 2, (a) is the case cover to the Noblesse Case, (b) is some 3mm to 4mm steel rails [or grate if there around] at 30mm apart, (c) is thin transparent black cloth mesh.

Now I was wondering where to get the (i) hole cut (30-40mm from the edge). (ii) where to get the steel rails (or grate) from, (iii) and how to attach it to the side panel. (iv) where to get the cloth from, (v) how to make the cloth removable (i.e. I was thinking of putting it in a sliding frame, but the rails can stay semi-permanent, like with screws or blots). (vi) any more suggestions.

Thanks:)

ok, in my opinon,

I would make a whole new side, leave your old side like it is.

if you can grab a sheet of metal and cut the window out and make a tracing of the outside, and make a new side, it's fairly easy,
just cut it approximately, and then file it down to the exact size.
for that just use a jigsaw saw, they are about 40-50$

steel grate, - metal places :p - can't help you on that, someone else will know.

how to attach - solder or brazing most likely, that would hold it toghter pretty well,

cloth - like bulk cloth shops and use hot glue to stick on the corners and that will hold it in, and when you need to, you can remove it,

well here's side panel (but it's way to bright [from reviewer's site] it sould be near black):

And SP do you mean magnets on the cloth, could be a good idea.

Thanks.

can you get a photo of the inside of the side, to see how it's attached?

I had a similar idea but I went for a jail cell cut out. This is the end result and it didn't quite go to plan. The biggest mistake was cutting the bars to close together and cutting them to thin ( I bent the first bar, opps).

I made a prisoner applique (complete with taliban inmate) to stick on the inside window but it just didn't look the part with the bars that close together and a black panel would look better than beige for a jail cell. Sometimes ideas sound great in your head but oh well. Will cut a hole out now.
