Hopefully tomorrow....if the Mobo....the HD's ...& The Ram arrive :)

Anyway, in the first instance I will not unlock the CPU but will attempt to squeeze every last drop of jiuce out of it in 'stock' form.

Mobo is Epox 8A5A3 with 512 MB Corsair 3200XMS and Volcano 7+ cooling.

Any suggestions on starting configs?

Also, how hot is permissable for a CPU? At what temp should the fan speed be increased? 50C ???

Ram at most aggressive settings, then bump up the fsb till the thing a) doesnt boot or is unstable then pump up vcore. Do the cycle until your temps are within your confort range yet still yeilding a highish oc

then once u've found wat ur chip can do, unlock it, and pump it to like 200mhz fsb x 11, or if u have a high yielding chip, 12.5 :)
The Epox with that ram should quite easily take 200mhz fsb...mite aswell try higher and see what u get :)

d00d, just keep the fan speed on high all the time :)

If the onboard LAN is OK I'll stick with that...same for sound. I'll probably install a video editing card i have but thats about it!

Just been informed of a further 24 hr delay. Ironic isn't it. Ive got the hard bit...the XP2400 but cannot get the RAM :)
