I spent the weekend finishing off all the games that I never got around to completing so I could devote all my gaming time to UT2003. :D
It looks pretty incredible, and the weapons...oh the weapons...the new sniper rifle makes me dribble - oh oh oh! - and the Ion cannon! Theres something about orbiting death platforms that just make me go all giddy inside :D

Im really hoping we are going to see a demo this weekend...otherwise I may just have to venture outside in the sunlight. :(

I'm already designing a character model for myself for UT2003 :D ohhh the polycount minimum of 1500 is SWEET. Damn I hated making mod models using the 700 poly limit.

...nah, we're specifically NOT into CS ( unlike many other LANs ). We also have a much higher average age, as most of us are at Uni, Polytech, or are working.

Which means no whiney lam3rz, lots of playing the latest games, lots of 1337 rigs to look at, and the occasional good conversation in-between frags :D

Feel free to try us out - big LAN coming up in about 4 or 5 weeks :D :D

Pfft CS isn't that bad, I think its qute fun actually...

And it does get playet a bit at L3s just not as much as at tother lans which is a really good thing :D

UT 2003 looks pretty cool, I can't say I am a big fan of UT but this one looks pretty sweet.

CS ... what is CS? .. lol, anyways, Counter Strike DOES get played at some stage or another ... but KingJackal encourages other games to be played such as Renegade, Jedi Knight 2, Dugeon Seige I hope will prove popular. So far we haven't had any LONG games such as Diablo 2 since we haven't had enough ppl interested or at least I think so.

If you wanna play it, just approach KingJackal or I [When I go to the end of the year ones] and we'll see if everyone has it, an we'll announce for you :)

So yeah .. .. bit off the topic, but we try our best to make it just a good lan for everyone.

Depends on what you think is "new" weapons do define the new strategies involved in this game ... so yeah.

And for me, it means a great fantastic new engine to work with, along with Dugeon Siege.

haha.. Chaos is probably one of the better UT players out there.. and this is Australasia wide :) If we'd known about your L3 lans we probably would have turned up to them.

He's also been bugging me every five minutes asking if I've heard anything about the release of the demo, so I would say he's interested in it :)

A leaked early test version of UT2003 is floating around the internet. It is not representative of the quality or performance of the final game. Infogrames' job in situations like these is to go after the people who are leaking or passing-along this version. They also need to suppress conversations about the leaked version on web forums to avoid pointing at it and tempting innocent people, who normally don't traffic in stolen software, to download it to find out what people are talking about. Their duty to their shareholders is to protect the value and marketability of their products to the fullest extent possible. They HAVE to do that, they're a public company and their shareholders would expect no less because Infogrames is invests a lot of money to bring games like UT2003 to the marketplace.

Car companies "hate" it too when journalist get shots of their concept cars before they get to announce them because it stirs up so much interest. Epic is still a company, not my next-door neighbor, and i will still purchase UT2K3 if it as good as they say it is. - and I will NOT judge the quality on this demo, it's just something to check-out instead of the same tired old screenshots...

If the final version is even HALF as kick-ass as this leaked ALPHA demo, the game will be worth every shiny penny. And seeing as how even the most horrible games start out retailing at $99, they should charge $200 for this and I'd still pay it. ;) :D

I may or may not be able to confirm or deny the fact that if you open the Lava Giant II map in the alpha take a look around then go into the original UT and look at lava giant you'll be amazed at the progress the Unreal engine has made.

It was a test given to hardware companys like ATI & Nvidia for compatibility testing etc...

Surprise surprise somewhere along the way it got leaked and Epic is pissed about it.

They consider it stolen software and strongly discourage the distribution of it.

I don't have it nor do I plan to download it... I know one person who did download, but that was before the posts to the official forum by the makers outlining the situation...

Anyway while ya'll waiting for the official demo to come out I highly suggest you check out this thread with some funny @ss photoshop madness about the release of the official demo..

As far as the "I'll be glad to share it" comment I didn't mean it via these forums, I push limits but I don't cross certain ones, and creating problems for other people is one of them. I really WASN'T going to post a link or anything saying: "come get UT2K3 demo here, blah, blah, blah..." I just wanted to let people know it's out there and if they wanted to get a hold of it bad enough, they can. As far as ME getting in trouble, well, I'm still waiting for the MP3 police to kick down my door, then the Digital Extremes guys can have me when the MP3 police are done with me.
