cheers

you need to give more details, what sort of mobo, psu and cooling do you have?

Hmmm, well - the FIC ain't exactly an overclockers wet dream ( read: crap ;) ). Not to mention stock coolers are about good for nothing ( but they make great paper weights! ) You could be limited by that, plus there's always the stepping of the chip.
BTW, what fsb have you got it running at? still at 133? Cos 8.5x133 = 1130, which ain't very brilliant. But at the same time, my multiplier is often at 8! ( fsb at 175 though, heh heh heeehhhhh :D  )
What does it do if you go higher? Unstable? Nothing at all? Only gets half-way into Windows?

heh, i told him there aint no point in trying to OC it..
1) ****to mobo
2) ****to t-bird stepping
3) ****to bog standard heatsink fan..
4) its fast enough for wat he wants..
but dont let that stop u eastwood....ur on 133fsb x 8.5 on stock cooling now aint u?

it's possible you might squeeze a bit more out of it with a voltage mod and some serious cooling... but umm, yeah... hock it off and find an AXIA :)

I had multiplier problems when unlocking my AVIA 1gig Tbird
Several things to try,
1. Check or Re-Do the pencil trick , if this is how you are unlocking it.
-This sounds like it could be the problem as multipliers will be set to weird settings if just one bridge is not quite connected using pencil trick.
2. Give it heaps of voltage (within limits), My Tbird, its running at 1.85 volts, which is the MAX my mobo does. Check you've increased your voltages.
3. Try other Odd Multipliers. I was unable to use a couple of multipliers (not sure why, maybe my sloppy pencil still) but try other multipliers, and drop your FSB accordingly for high Multipliers (for testing)
-For example: 8.5x, 9.5x, 10.5x multipliers all worked fine, BUT 9x and 10x did not even post
