ok iv decided to get my self a new PixelView Geforce4 MX440 64mb DDR and sell my old Retail Leadtek Geforce2 Pro 32mb DDR.

Iv checked a couple of Pixelview review and was quite impressed with the card, even though the card has -5ns ram.:(

but tht doesnt really matter, as i wont be Overclocking my video card, as i dont see the point og Ocing your Video Card a couple extra 20 mhz or more and get a 5FPS boost and risk of having your card damaged.

So i wanna know, should i do it, sell my old card and get the new one, yes i know its a small upgrade, but i cant afford upgrading to a GF3 jst yet..:(

I probably could sell the GF2 for $200 Max at trademe as the Geforce2 Pro card is Retail Version and its Leadtek :D., and then get the GF4 MX440 for $199 frm DragonPc.

Can u guys also tell me the advantages and features the GF4 MX440 has compared to the GF2 Range cards.

and one more thing, ages ago i posted a pic of my Video Card in OCNZ, i was wondering if anyone had it saved in their PC or whtever, as i seem to hav lost the pic with the old forums :(

First off going from a gf2 pro to a gf4 mx isn't much of an upgrade, it's not worth it unless there is a game you have the really needs a better video card to play at good smooth frame rates.

Apparently those pixel view cards don't have as good 2D quality as the leadtek cards do. ie: text won't be as clear on your desktop with a pixel view card as on a leadtek card, because pixel view use cheaper quality components.

but hey if you can sell your gf2 for $200, it might be worth it since it won't cost you anything..

Personally I don't think I would ever buy a pixel view because of the visual quality issue is has..and generally you get what you pay for...

and what's this talk about not having enough for a gf3.. a gf3 what the f....?

I can't believe people are even still considering gf3's when the gf4 ti 4200 is out at not much more in price.

Its not much of an upgrade really.... but if it costs you nothing then go for it....

I don't really know what they're talking about when it comes to the 2d visual quality.... i'm running 1280*1024 on a 19in monitor and do't have any complaints... no different than my geforce2MX... although i haven't comparied to a a leadtek card....

i'm wondering if these people who complain about image crispness are using the same monitor for both cards... and are this monitors running at there recommended resolutions... as aposed to there max res.... this has an effect on image quality !!!

I think it's a reasonable idea Asa - especially if you intend on playing the next generation of games that utilise FSAA alot. ie: DOOM 3.

If you can't afford the Ti4200 - can you possibly spend a bit more than $199 and get a Leadtek MX440? I think it would be worth it, but that's just me........
