The Gigabyte 60X in the olds computer has finally died, so it's time for a new Socket 370 mobo. I am thinking about getting the Abit ST6, and I just wanted to know if anyone has had experience with it or heard of any problems with it.

It's damn difficult to find a decent review of this mobo on google, the best one I could find was this: http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/reviews/article/1390.1/

Oh and here are the motherboard specs: http://www.abit.com.tw/abitweb/webjsp/english/pt_main_back.jsp?pPRODUCT_TYPE=MotherBoard&pMODEL_NAME=ST6

Cheers.

Yeah read that one, the Hardware Analysis and the Hardware Unlimited reviews were the only two I could find, thanks for looking tho. :D

Neither of the reviews give details on the overclocking abilities of the board either (one review states that the max FSB setting is 250MHz - but I don't think I'll quite be getting there), the CPU that will be used is a PIII 750MHz (100x7.5) SL462 stepping, I know it can run @ 133MHz FSB........ It's just the old 6OX never provided enough voltage, the comp would POST but not load into windoze.

Well, the 60X was the mobo from the olds computer anyway, so I didn't really want to risk damaging it.......

It has SoftMenu III which should give similar options as the KR7A does.

Yeah, SoftMenuIII rocks - I just hope the CPU core voltage goes up to (hopefully a bit higher) 1.85V. The crappy 60X only had a +10% jumper which gave a sad 1.81V.

Although being an Abit it should. :D
