Any ideas guys? When I say cheap, under $200 retail. I need to make up a system for "online banking and running word" so crisp characters is the key.

Please snigger in brackets.

Get a cheap ATI all in wonder if its just for 2D.
Cost you like $60

What res?

Cos if you want ultra-crisp 2048x1536 @ 100Hz, trust me - ya ain't gonna find it under $200....

( I KNOW that's probably an exaggeration. It'd just be handy to know if it's a 21" or a 15" monitor it's getting paired with ;) )

Good point KJ :)

Will be a 17" monitor, Proview, not bad (according to someones review) so I am rethinking the whole thing, perhaps just a shizer cheap MX400 or something for their machine, I'm tired and caring less and less ;)

Lol - Proview 17". I've tried several Proview 17" models on my rig. INCLUDING the latest 'ooo - it's so 1337' version.

And trust me, they still = teh blury on my Radeon 7500.

I'd just pick up a Leadtek GeForce2 MX400 from Dragon ( $205 - but I'm sure you could haggle :D ). Those cards have good 2D filters, and ( perhaps more important for this sort of box ) driver support with a capital Ub3r ;).
