CDRW & DVD
64mb Graphics
Sound
56k Modem
Win 9X or XP pro
Anyone know a model like that?

alienware mean overkill.....btw, who would do gaming on a laptop?
me thinks they are just too horible unless you are using a decent monitor for them.....i hate laptop screens so much.
Only good for privacy and half the time they keep your eyes out aswell.
yes i do have a laptop so its not an opinoin based on mucking around with touchpads in dse :p

You never heard of BIOS flashing?
*d@mnit, WHERE is that evil smiley!*
Yeah - laptops are incredibly expensive. I was about to say you were being totally unrealistic for a machine like that for a price in that range here in NZ... :(

Dell notebooks are a waste of time these days...in this country anyway...
I've tried and tried to get hold of their support ppl...can't even buy a fan for a notebook in warranty.
I hate to suggest it... but going overseas get a Compaq or Toshiba...go for a Compaq Evo or Toshiba Satellite pro... even if they cost more than a pre-sorry-o or satellite, they're built nicely and have decent support.

Well that's actually what you have to do with Dell as well. For warrentys etc all Dell Stuff has to go back to the States. I know this because my partners uncle is a tech down here and he filled an order for a client with Dell laptops. And through numerous faults they entire lot (20+) had to be shipped to the States.
So Just in case you missed it... There is NO Dell Support in NZ :D I say toshiba watercooled *drool*
