Hey guys - need to hear your interest.

As i haven't decided whether to rent a house or flat this may influence the choice.

Silver and I were just talking and if i decided to get something big enough - it could be made into a permanant LAN house on the weekends and charge something like $7-12 (roughly) for the whole weekend (seeing as it's going to be a dedicated house).

I'd really like to hear if you would come and if you would bring mates - if say there were a steady flow of people nearly every weekend then i'll look for a place appropriate. :)

Im in,

Have a few mates that would be keen also (probably about 4-5 ppl).

Have car, will travel.

Anywhere would be sweet, as long as the LAN's are good its worth the drive.

on a similar note...

I was talking to my tech about being able to get some switches for doing a lan and they ended up agreeing to let us to hold the LAN on campus!

So, its been approved and we're setting a date for the upcoming holidays... But... as it stands it will probably only be for MIT students which means most of you wont be able to come :( (except glycerine of course :))

In time though, we should be able to convince them to allow non-students to be allowed to attend as well and have something similar to TCOSY.

make sure you let the police on to what you are doing........;)

think about it....

a whole lot of dodgy looking people handing over money at the door and emerging several hours later with big perly whites showing, all sweaty from physical and mental exertion.... bound to raise a few eyebrows from the nieghbours......

seriously if you want to do a pernament LAN place then a flat really isnt the way to go...... you will need somewhere central... also a place with good security is a must ...... your nieghbours will get pissed at people coming and going at all hours..... if you are serious about it you really need to get some small retail space..... but then I dont think you will make a profit unless you do it right.... I guess it is all about customers..... places like this could exist and the greater part of auckland would never know about it or utilise it....... but not to say that it isnt a good idea

hopefully I have given you something to think about ...... even if it was ..... what the hell are you on about man

yeh, theres a prog that emulates a socks server (use the loopback ip) and converts it to HTTP requests to go through the proxy.
