i need help here.
ive got hold of a bag of cpus from a scrap metal dealer . (they melt them for the gold etc) for free i mite add.
there all intel pentium with mmx. i just wish to find ther mhz rating.
on the chips one reads.
bp80503166
sl2fp/2.8v
malay
l7401905-0822
and of course the copyrights and title (intel pentium)
bp80503166 = bp80503 166
the last three letters are the clock speed, 166MHz, they go for about 10-20$ on trademe each,
or, maybe I suppose, you could have actually gone onto the intel website (hint, www.intel.com)
and typed in the spec (SL2FP) into the search box and you would get this link:
http://www.intel.com/design/pentium/QIT/DATABASE/sl2fp.htm
and it tells you all the info that you might ever need right there
 :D

how do you identify this ram.
ive figured out its ti ram. which is texas industries or sumthing like that.
but the chip reads
TI korea -70
z417400 g
gag 443400
i looked round ther site but couldnt find any chip serial searching porggy or anything like dat.
here is a good article re RAM:

it looks like your RAM is EDO? right? cause it's seems pretty old to me,

Where did u get those stuff from? Do u live in Auckland? (find any P2/K6?)
read the first post

Tens0r, are you able to plug in the RAM and see how big it is and if it works, ? etc, that will save you heaps of time, instead of trying to find online info,

thing is i dont have a system to put it into otherwise i would have :/
its old stuff so i dont have old mobo to go with it.
looks to be 72pin EDO ram.
it has 8 silicon chips on it . any idea how much mb the ram is?
whereabout's are you?
for RAM, an EDO chip with 8 chips on it can be anywhere from 0.5 to 16MB.
Eg, I've got 2x4MB + 2x16MB EDO RAM on a P166@180.
most likely they are 4MB pieces, but you never know,
you can grab an old mobo for real cheap, like 10$,

singleide, prolly 4mb, double sided prolly 8, 16 if your lucky.
If you post em to chch I'll test em for you, for a portion mind you :)
i've got 16MB piece, single side, :D right here,
but there is an 80% chance that they are 4MB ones,
