yeah airbrushing would cost a packet... it'd be cheaper if you had a mate who did it but it'd still prolly be well over $300 for anything considerable... quite possibly a lot more.
depending what you want done (and as long as you can find a suitably high-res image) you could get it screen printed onto your side panel(s). cost = well under $100... prolly around the $40 mark.

Airbrushing looks Sweeet but you really do pay for it. There is a business verseas who do specilised computer airbrushing, Computersdivine I think. Have a look at some of their work and see what you think. you would be looking at over $400 for something worthwhile...

I know this sounds really crude, but it might work. Heres what I was originally thinking of doing to my case... get a nice high res picture somewhere in the 800 DPI, and then getting it lazer printed on a particulry thin piece of paper. Then adhere it on to the side of your case when you have added the last coat of paint. As the paper should be quite thin, it shouldn't make too much of a sticking out on your side panel. Then go over the side of your case with some sort of polish ... since the polish will make the paper shine it looks quite ok.
I learnt this trick while making some WarHammer 40K ship models. You often can't find some decals on the size you want, or the style, and this is the best way I have figured out how to do it so far...
Remember the key is on the paper ...

IMHO i dont think it really matters as long as you print it on the photo quality stuff...

Hopefully it'll do the same trick.
You DON'T want ink print it cos the ink will run when you put on high quality gloss... which is not good. Plus you don't want stupid ink banding on your purty image...
WarHammer 40K is all good ay...

ummm, almost any copy shop would be able to do it... they're everywhere these days, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding one to do it. price for an A4 or A3 colour print would be around $10 i think, probably less.

Why not hand paint it?
Most guys who have asked me to paint murals wanted Anime characters and simple designs. My advice to them is to do it themselves, you always feel better about something if you worked hard to get it!
It isn't hard to do either just get a pic you like, use a bit of tracing paper & copy the pic then use carbon paper to xfer it to your case then paint it in.
Paint co$ts though!!! One colour is around 3$ - 10$ depending on what amount and type of paint you buy. You may need 10 or 20 colours. And it takes a lot of time to get it right. You also need brushes and solvents (for cleaning & thinning) you start to understand why it costs so much when you add it all up.

I'd do it myself naturally, but a decal would be better in some cases as in that it is more accurate, you don't have to worry about drawing mistakes ... etc etc.
At the moment I am doing mine with a decal style, as it'd work out much better. The only thing I have to worry about is asking them to get really thin paper. The image will be fine. Max uses vectors and maths for the 3D stuff. Just got to make sure I use some pretty good textures on the 3D model I am making...
But yeah, buying all that paint for a one-off job ...? I'd say the decal idea is all good ... if it works the way I think it will. Cutting the decal will be a bit hard ... gotta buy a new scapel now that I think about it ...

Expect of course wif out the flames.. as you can see its not exactly an easy picture to paint.

NAH ...
Should be piss easy. Its all block colours just trace it on & paint by numbers. The only challenge would be the flames but as you say you wouldn't put them on.
One other thing occurs, it came to me in a dream, some sign writers make stickers (like you see on busses) that would be (I would guess) a lot cheaper than air brushing. You would only need to make sure you prepare the surface of your case well before puting it on. ?? Something to consider ??
