hey, me and binky have to pay for google's all the time :p
and google.co.nz is free ;)
to integrate sp1 with the install files you have to extract it and then run <path to sp1 files>\update\update.exe -s:<path to xp install files>
dont know about putting in the cdkey.
Thx guys. I will give it a go later tonite. Very helpful, as always. :D :D :D

Its called "slipstreaming", you could also use something like sysprep (which I think may even be on the XP CD in the support folder .. can't find my CD to check right now) to make a unattended setup file.

what Swifty posted is the correct command for slipstreaming XP.. as for unattended installation, go to the cd, support\tools dir and extract deploy.cab to somewhere on your hdd, run setupmgr.exe to create a unattended install file, it will prompt you for the CDKey during the process. save the file as winnt.sif and place it in the i386 dir if you are creating a new bootable CD, or you can just have it on a floppy disc and make sure it is in when you boot from CD.. the other option is to run the .bat file it creates to run setup if you are using a distribution folder instead of CD.
let me know if you need to know how to make a new bootable ISO of WinXP SP1
