Hi all,

After having a couple of issues with another pc and corrupted fat tables when overclocking I was wondering if anyone knew of a floppy based stability tool? It could be cdrom based also just has to load into ram then (try to) thrash the cpu/ram etc.

I intend to disconnect the harddrive while running this. I know this won't test if the hard disk controller can handle but its a nice precaution especially if introducing friends to the endless joy that is overclocking :D

Any links/ideas would be appreciated.

Just curious, what speed, motherboard and harddrive?

My Cuda 2 cant handle 38+ mhz PCI bus :( But thanks to this DDR board, I can have dividers so that it is running at 34mhz now, at 170mhz bus.

What all do you need to test? CPU Stability test will do the CPU, not sure of RAM, but my guess for total PC testage, hunt down an older copy of SciSoft Sandra (with realistic panty damage), one that fits onto a disk and go from there.

old skool hardware. bx mobo with a celeron 300a cpu. it would also be nice to see if my p3-450 will do 133fsb without risking losing all my pr0n. i know i can backup to cd but i don't want to reinstall everything again.

isn't sisoft windows based?

one idea i had from a guy at work is a cd based linux distro.

I use memory testing tools for burning in my memory and also checking if my memory can't take the overclock. I'm not entirely sure if this puts any stress on the cpu but try it out anyway. I use two programs called Docmemory and Memtest.
Both are easy to find if you search them up, take up only one disk each, and most of all are free.
Have fun.

I use Memtest86 also, you can download it it as an ISO and just boot from CD.. here is a Link (http://www.memtest86.com/memtest86-3.0.iso)
