Ah so many young ones that have never seen a valve before.
Valves give a much better sound audio output than anything silicon can.

ok yes but now i'm very confused.
if the vacuum tube is supposed to have such good audio output, why on earth have they paired it with of all things, a Realtek AC97 audio chip??
doesn't seem logical to me!!

mainly because it's cheap, and if it's purely for sound quality, it doesn't really matter too much what audio chip is used... the failure of such normally nasty sounding AC97 chips is the analogue output - not a problem here! :)

You got it in one.. nice to see others that know something about the truely sexy sound that valves can give. You haven't lived till you have heard System of a Down played through a Valve based amp on a grand total of 28 speakers.

O M G!
That would make baby jesus erect!
As for the motherboard, it was my understanding it was said in jest, and the engineers thought 'bugger it, why not' and hence the beast before us.
I for one will get one on release day, I would rather Realtek sound than Creative, even though they both suck the resources the same...
Its scary thinking some of you dont know what a valve amp is...I feel so very old now.
I have a kickass Sansui valve amp, I cant find it in my garage :( It needed some new valves, and the only place I could find with the Dragons that I wanted were $100 each, and I needed a dozen hehe...I TOO PO' and now I cant seem to find my fvcking amp !??!! :/
