ive just seen the other thread by KJ, any others that fit my criterior??
PIXELVIEW GeForce 4 MX420 64MBDDR with TV-Out AGP Card. $149.00 inc
From Dragon PC,
From the reviews I saw a few weeks back, these MX 420 cards seemed to perform quite well. damn cheap too.
www.dragonpc.co.nz
has GF4 MX420 for $149.
They are probably the best AGP video card you can get for that price.
Any other ideas people?

Unless you can fork out another $50 and get a GF4 MX 440...
You'd increase the memory bandwidth from 2.7 to 6.4GB/s... worth it IMO but if you can't afford more, get the 420

SerN and k14, he did mention he saw those :P
Anyway, I'd just like to make sure you guys know that the Pixelview cards are not what they seem!
They look good, and I'll bet they perform well...but the MX420 is actually the equivalent to the MX440 of every other brand...just their own brand thingying I guess...the MX400 in their series is the SDRAM MX420 of course, and their MX440 is the top of the line MX460, and all that for only $199incl?
EXCELLENT.
Also, sidenote, I noticed that TasTech has the Leadtek GF3 Ti500 for only $415incl now, and for $30 more you get the GF4 Ti4200 :)
ABOUT TIME!! Now, which to choose?

WTF are you smoking bro?
The MX400 is JUST THAT - a GeForce2 MX400
The MX420 is JUST THAT - a GeForce4 MX420
The MX440 is JUST THAT - a GeForce4 MX440
...there is NOTHING amazing about any of the cards, expect their MX420 uses 64bit DDR rather than 128bit SDR so that fools will get suckered into thinking it's faster.
Apart from that, they're identical ( GPU/memory clocks ) to pretty much every other MX400/MX420/MX440 card out there....

*awaits your explanation*

I thought the GF4 MX series were 420, 440, and 460?
Thats what my point was, Sir.
Arrr, nevermind, I see where I went wrong.

Let me guess, you thought they were all GeForce 4's??
Lol - so the DDR MX420 got you too ( for a second ), hehehe :D
Just kidding - that's kinda weird aye? Only brand I know that use 64bit DDR on their MX420's....

Those PixelViews definitely are a nice price. They've gotta be reasonably good I just wouldn't think they'd be worth it if you will be putting a lot of stress in the graphics department.

well S.T.U thought that the $199 MX440 was good here (http://forums.overclockers.co.nz/showthread.php?s=&postid=3347#post3347) . I might have to get one myself.
