After installed, as you can see it is DAMN close to the north bridge heatsink (Zalman ZM-NB32J).
Close but not touching, about 2-3mm clearance!!!

The clip is a good easy design, toolless!!
but just a bit close to the ram!
As you can see, it is not touching, but it make you have to take off the heatsink before you can remover you ram

Result:
Factory Duron Heatsink:
Speed Idle Load
L 2500rpm 46 50
M 44 48
H 40 45
*Sorry I forgot to record the rpm of the factory heatsink
Coolermaster HHC-001 with Stock 60mm fan:
Speed Idle Load
L 3700rpm 42 44
M 5600rpm 39 40
H 7300rpm 36 38
Coolermaster HHC-001 with 80mm Delta 80cfm fan:
Speed Idle Load
L 3200rpm 37 40
M 4800rpm 36 38
H 6300rpm 35 37
The reson for why got L/M/H setting is because the Xaser case come with a H/M/L switch, I think is set something like 12/5/3v, but not sure, as long as it does the job.
From the result, as you can see, all the low speed compare to the high speed is not a great different, I would not bare the noise when the the delta at full speed!!! also what suprise me is the the different between Idle and load, only a few degree different! May be it is a Duron!! Anyway, with Delta fan set as low, the temp will not go over 40, which I think it is VERY GOOD, you can not hear much from the delta with low setting, but it still does the job!! which makes me wanted to try to test it again with out any fan!! I will tell you the result IF I have the balls to do it. From now, I will just stick with the low setting of the delta, may go for high setting if I really needed it in a hot summer day!

Some mobo northbridges are set by the manufacturers to not completely enable the idle cycle on the cpu for stability reasons, which is probably the explanation between the small difference between idle and load temps
the other problems (heatpipes coming close to nb and clip over the ram) are mobo specific, but worthy to note nonetheless.
I really like that clip, its the best 2-lug mech out there IMHO :D
I'm sorry to hear about your loss (xp1800+) Always sucks when you lose a cpu :(

Welcome to the Heatpipe world matey :)
I've found it pretty unreal at cooling my puppy too: Athlon at 1400 puts out about as much heat as anything (but at least the older Athlon has a bit more surface area to disperse it), and it runs coooool
I had a play with the HHC-001 over the weekend. The clip is one of THE best on the socketA market. Totally tool-free and easy to engage. The base is relatively smooth, don't think lapping is needed.
It does not fit well with the Abit KR7A. The heatpipe comes into contact with one of the big capacitors near the socket. You need to bend the capacitor to fit the HSF properly. It does fit the Asus A7V8X though.
I won't comment on the noise though, as anything louder than the Maxtor D740X or Icute 80mm fan is too loud.
The cooling performance is pretty good, consider the fan used.

I would love to have a SLK-800 tested as well!!!
but who got that much money!
hey Stove & Hans, where did you guys get yours from??
and can you tell me roughly how hot is your cpu please?

I got mine from a mate who sourced them online from the USA. Cost a bomb (approx $100NZ) but hey: I'm a sucker for prettys for my PC. Temp wise: MAX I have ever managed was 45°C and that was at about 1430MHz or so.

45??
my V7+ is never above 44 these days (44/27 under load atm)
I'm thinking if ya duct one of these Heatpipe puppies you'll drop the temp even further, and it helps to muffle the sound too.

100 bux!!!! DAMN, mine is a bargin!! lol!!!
my V7+ is never above 44 these days (44/27 under load atm)
1) depend on what cpu you using
2) clocked or not
3) what case you using? and other parts etc (no means if you have a almost empty case and I got it loaded with 10000 HD)
4) room temp
5) different mobo etc
you can not say yours v7+ below 44 is better than stove's, you have a 70cfm fan at max, and our max is 36cfm, so I really think the hhc-001 pefrom better..
I am not saying it is not a good HSF, I meant no offense by the remark, thou V7+ is a good HSF, but it is still a mid to low range compare to 1000s of hsf unit out there.
It actually only does 49cfm at max.

People.
Keep in mind that you are comparing results across platforms and motherboards ;)
The temp results could be +-10C or more either way.
The HHC-001 works very well, or quite decently, depending on what way it faces.
For example, it might work better on a flat surface, horizontally.
They are both very nice heatsinks, with quite respectable performance.
I'm glad you're happy with your purchase TP222 :)

Stove has a TBird. Different planet as far as heat is concerned ( compared to your XP ). His TBird 1.4G puts out more heat than an XP2200+, let alone your chip  ;).
But yeah, those temps are good. Comparible to my watercooling. As I have a TBird 1.4 as well, and down there the most I've gotten is also around 46C ( with case temps going past 32C LOL :o ).
With my TBird at 1.533G @ 1.9V though, I can get temps way up in the 50's. Of course, up there the TBird is putting out stupid-fly amounts of heat.
...my room doesn't have a heater....
:D
