KINGMAX 256Mb DDR333 PC-2700
ThermalRight AX-7, Copper base
Maxtor D740X Viper 40GB 7200RPM ATA 133
Triplex Millennium Silver 128MB GeForce4 Ti4200 Tv out, Dvi
which would best fit the slot for my mobo for oc'ing, and stabability : D?
ive thought about the new gigabyte just out, and iwill and asus...

stability wise it pays to stick with the top four:
Asus, Abit, MSI and... whoever the other one is
Avoid the lower teir such as pc chips, dfi, fic etc
overclocking wise, they should each have their own merits overclocking wise.
Each and every member here will whore their favourite brand like their ability to spawn evil children depends on it.. and I'll admit I tend to favour Asus and MSI over everyone else..
But ask yourself, are you really an overclocker whose life depends on getting every last mhz out of your gear? (in which case it really does matter and you are more than welcome to be a selective bizich) or like me are you happy to settle for a decent respectable overclock? (in which case it doesnt matter a single penny)
Realistically you should compare each in terms of price, features and results from heads on reviews etc. Read around a bit.. the reviewers should comment on stability and overclockability in there...
PS. Wait for nForce2 ;)
go for a KT333 board or a KT400 if you can afford one like that,
yeah, stick to the top brands like Asus and Abit, look for good price, and once you find your board, come here and we can tell you all about it, and then you can decide wether to get it or not.

Abit KX7-333R Via KT333 266Mhz FSB 4 DDR 333 Slots $286.00, as the cheap choice, or else go for the Epox EP-8K5A3+ for another $40 ir whatever.
The Epox is the board to get atm as the volatge that it pumps out is pretty bloody serious. I'd love one...

Epox. :D
Kozmic: read Hans' latest motherboard review: http://www.overclockers.co.nz/ocnz/mobo/epox8k5a3plus/1.shtml
Personally, I'm waiting for nForce2 ;) - but if you can't wait then the Epox 8K5A3+ is your best bet. Overclocks well, and also gives the feature whores a semi. It's what I'd get anyway.

they all look like some good mobos there.
i dont know alot, as im reasonably new to this. so thx for puttin up wif me :)
ive been looking at the gigabyte boards, i dont know why atm but i tend to favour them
like whetu said, im not an oc'er that wants to get everysingle last MHz outa my gear. if i was i would b after water cooling.
but yeh, just want a stable system, that can do a reasonable but stable amount of oc'ing.

im gonna pimp Epox:D
but if you wait long enough then you should have saved enough money for the next line of everything to come out, which will of couse push the prises down on the existing products andthe rest becomes obvious...:)
