Just wondering......

I have been with Microsoft since MS-Dos way back on the old 486 with 4MB of ram :) been through 95, 98, ME and W2K.

Of the above systems, W2K is definatley the one I use (and enjoy) the most. Work has migrated to it and we now support around 800 users on it. ALOT less hassle than the mixed 95 and NT4 system we were running before.

As far as other OS's have tried a few different Linux distro's....

Slackware, Debian, RedHat, Mandrake. Of these RH was the easiest to install and configure and get up and running. Still a newb as far as doing anything within Linux that isnt a mouse click away :)

Been reading a bit about BSD and am thinking of giving FreeBSD a crack...anyone out there tried it?

anyway hi ho hi ho......

dos, 3.11, 95, 98, Me, NT4, 2k, whistler, neptune (ms projects, both merged and eventually became xp), xp, mandrake, redhat, smoothwall, lrp, beos, macos, free/net/openBSD... i have the aethos installer lying about here somewhere but ive yet to try that... i'm still keen as beans to find a copy of NT3.51 and give that a shot to see what things were like wayback when...

bsd... give it a shot, i dont think you'll be disappointed if youre a seasoned lunix user...

dos, 3.11, 95, 98, Me, 2k, XPpro & home - linux redhat & mandrake... but haven't used those much at all - the installs constantly stuffed up and i gave up after a few days of hassel.

Err, PC OS's right.
DR-DOS-6.11 (i think), win3.1, win3.11, win95, win98SE, NT4, win2k

And that is pretty much it.
These are the OS's i have used on my personal system.
I have had a play with teh lunix on other pc's, but not for me....

Have been most impressed with WinME, WinXP Pro and all 3 Linux distro's.

Also dabbled in DOS, BeOS, Mandrake, XP Pro, some of theNT family and Mac-something-or-other, but not for an extended amount of time...

I'm currently trying out Red Hat, and I like what I see, or would if I could get the goddamn modem working properly...

All of the windows ones (1, 2, 3 3.1 etc. nt all, xp, 2k etc).. all of the dos ones including most of the spin-offs. cdos, mdos, drdos, novell dos, caldera etc.

Xenix, linux, sco, os/400 360, vm/cms, some old quaint digital ones.. some old quaint ibm ones. netware (1, 2, 3, 4)

mac, beos, a couple I wrote once for fun..

my favorite would have been cpm and probably dos 3.3 (reverse engineer and enable the network and multitask features).

pretty much all do the same thing, some just have different bells and whistles.
