I figured this would go best in general help (correct me if I'm wrong)
Well I've had enough of my home made sorta, kinda, rounded IDE cables ...
1) Where's the best/cheapest place in Auck to buy ATA133 IDE cables, 45-48cm long ones..?
> If there aren't any I'll get them from styles ;)
2) Any brand recommendations.. ?
> ie: coolermaster cause they r0><0r, or don't get brand X.. they suck and didn't work properly for me

ATA133 rounds are back compatible with 33/66/100 eh?

I think I read somewhere they will include 1 or 2 with the mobo.. eg: like how with some mobo's you get PCI slot back plates for USB ports and other extras
ATA133 is backwards compatible, don't see why rounded cables wouldn't be...

it is fewl
the cables arent the limiting factor, the hard drives are, and ATA133 has no real performance boost as far as i know.
The IDE controler has improvements tho.
and what i mean about the serial->parellel adapters is wheather Abit will retail them seperate from the board...
Grrr!!

Be paitient and go serial with Serillel or so. The serial cables are small, round and can be used in long lengths. The max specification is 1 metre, but I've heard they work fine at much longer lengths. They also don't suffer from crosstalk.

Read that article, regardless of whether you want to know about sATA or not.. it's a damn well written piece and has a ton of info on parallel, crosstalk, cable lengths etc

Damn sure does have a ton of info in that article
Dick(head) Smith now sells Rounded Cables, although at the mo u can hav any colour u like so long as it's BLUE and it's seems they r only 4 Floppy drives BUT I'm assured that IDE 1's r on the way.
Prices r a bit more expensive than Web Shops.
Check out their DigitalDoc5 though, Only $150 incl.Jist and they have RGB colours in EL wire for $25 without inverter an 1 colour (Red) with inverter 4 $44 incl.Jist
