SO like I've got this celly 700 right, it's a socket 370 on an MSI slocket and stuck in my slot 1 ASUS P3V4X mobo

This machine will be retired to server duties once I get my new mobo back from JB, and I was thinking about taking the plunge into water cooling. (Hehe get it plunge, watercooling omg I crack me up)

Anyways, is it much more difficult to WC a slot 1? I've never seen any pics of it, but I assume it'd be possible?

I'm thinking I'd have to design my own waterblock, and get the guys in metalwork at work to mill it for me, and the weight on the slocket would probably be a factor?

Anyone done this b4 or able to point me to an article I've missed in my searches ???

the overclockers.com articles should have some slot loving there.. but seeing as you are on a slocket already.. you could use a socket370 waterblock.. you'd just have to be sure its low profile and has right angle barbs so that it doesnt intefere with your ram slots...

Do they have the same mounting devices as a normal HSF coz the slocket has no thru holes for mounting stuff rememeber.

I figured mounting the block and the weight factor would be my biggest problems

basically on your slocket you have a standard socket370. It should have the lugs etc so that normal everyday socket370 hsf's can fit. So in theory if you can find a socket370 waterblock, it too should fit.

The slot retention mechanism should be strong enough to hold it up, though you could use some struts between the underside of the waterblock and the mobo for extra holding power if need be...
