View Full Version : who turned up the heat?
well, looks like spring is here,
my cpu is doing 49°C under full load, with case at 30°C, and with all the sides taken off and a huge room fan blowing air into it, it's only at 26°C.
During winter, my room was around 15°C, case was 20°C and CPU was always under 40°C.
What are your temps like?
I can also feel that it's warmer cause I'm feeling fine wearing short sleeves, while it's a no-no during winter.

mines at 38°C atm, I was getting 34°C ,like 2 weeks ago, hmmm times have changed.
Grrr!!

° = Alt 0176.
I'm not _N_ though.
if you wanna see stuff like alt+XXXX go into your character map thing and look it up there ;) :D
I've opened my window wide open, fans blowing, curtains closed, and still 48°C cpu, :(
looks like no more Seti, and switch on cpu idle thing.

mine's been going up and down....form 40 to 50 degrees, with either low or medium fan settings on my V7+
but considering air temp at the top of my case is 29-30 degrees, its not surprising
I'm getting 36.5°C under load ;) but I can't hear a god damn thing

Room temperature has been going up to 35C. CPU temperature has been going up to 55C at full load.

Ya, temps getting higher alright. I'm doing 38C @ Load. Idle is 35C or so, I don't really know as I haven't been idle for weeks. Side panels are off as usual.... might have to throw in my 200mm fan in there soon if it get's much higher.

Temp's have gone up by about 5°C here
Warm weather is good! Case panels come off, fans turned on, and chicks clothes seemingly disappear too. The benefits outweigh the costs :)

Well if the last El Nino is anything to go by, it's going to be one hot summer. :D
I was living in Hastings during the last one and the temps were like late twenties - early thirties the whole time. With nighttime lows of like late teens. Damn sweet. Also a bloody good reason to go h2o. ;)
or pull your CPU out, and stick a VIA C3 in, :D :D :D, not, :)
I'm looking into putting proper venting which will suck air from the outside straight in onto my cpu,
also, it seems that my delta fan is not enough,
actually, this is my first summer with an AMD,
Holidays are in 2 weeks, so then I'll do a mod which I wanted to do for such a long time, but never got around to it, basically,
powerfull cooling, low noise. no water,

Yup I'm definatly considering it for when I get my P4 system up and running
at L3#7 my cpu temps were great! of cause my external body temps were below comfortable... is there a happy medium for both body and cpu? :(

If you is cold put a jumper on :p
Any other easy tips for life you haven't learnt yet

well, after recuding my in bios to 1.70, its hovering between 1.74 and 1.76, usually the latter, and doing some air flow engineering, my cpu's hardly ging over 44 degrees now....under load (UD running) and whats more, its the Low fan setting too :D

Reminds me of South Park 64... yellow snowballs... haha classic :D
stupid little brother bumped my PC yesterday quite hrad, and now for some reason its running at 48*C idle, 49*C doing sh*te all :/
hehe, Is your heatsink still on? :D j/k
has anyone done a setup where they have like an airconditioning unit blowing the cold air over the cpu and then into the room,
would work out nice in summer.

my friend was gonna do that, his dad's an ex airconditioning repariman - now at chubbs security
he said that it'd cause too much condensation around the mobo etc, which could get hazardous after a while :/
i suppose if the whole room was at 21°C, then you would be sweet re condesation

Yep, it's getting warm alright, my idle temp is 3 degrees higher than what it was yesterday.........
From 37 to 40.
Time for a case mod I feel. ;)

I've always wondered if it would be possible to build a air con unit that could fit in a case. So instead of the fan blowing in what ever warm air is in the room, the air would get cooled and therefore cool all the components. But I think condensation would be a hard prob to deal with.

and for those who are on air cooling, Mitre 10 has 110mm black flexy drainage piping for $5.99 a metre, perfect for those air ducts from either the back or thru the side pannel.
i'm gonna get me some either tomorrow or next thrusday.
haha, south park, love the show :), the game is great fun... for about 2hrs then its a lil boring :(

But a piece of cardboard, a pair of scissors and some glue can work wonders as well... :p
With room temp @ 30C, my CPU is reading 49C full load from the thermal monitor now(58C from ABSII monitor).
IR thermometer reads the base of the CPU cooler @ 42C though...all thanks to an air duct...still running quiet enough for my liking as well. :)

mines 40 under load WITHOUT the duct......

What room temperature?
At 20C room temperature, my CPU drops below 40C.
hmmm...need aircon.
