From Styles.....
Pentium 4 3.06 GHZ Northwood Socket 478 533FSB 512K cache - No price, just asking potential buyer to email him. I think there was a price at some stage but I think he removed it.
If he says it exists......... it exists.

it certainly exists... just not yet. the latest model on intel's website is the P4 2.80ghz, so why some seller's are advertising them i have no idea. probably just following on from what the wholesalers are saying.
/edit:
from intel.com
Now at 2.80 GHz, the next evolutionary step for desktop processor technology.
Sept 9th is a day to bookmark
Most retailers are endeavouring to quit existing stock before hand
as they realise the current P4's Northwoods will be "old hat" there after
case in point
e-one selling Intel Pentium 4 2.4A GHz (Socket 478, FSB533) $468 + GST
;)
if you're in the P4 market you might want to hold off your purchase

I'm pretty sure 0.09 isn't coming until next year, but 3.0Ghz is coming this year, so I think you're wrong about it being 0.09 Tiggerz.

thats the rub, the last press release I got gave a list of features for it, specially the hyper threading.. But the bit about the .09 vs .13 was written badly and I couldnt figure out which was going to be used.. Email to settle the question has been ignored as per usual..
Guess we shall have to wait and see.
To be honest, dont think we will see it here until the usual feb, march date.
Since the apps that I run are all multi-threaded anyhow, I am oging for a dual xeon setup. The new xeons out also support hyperthreading and i'll be looking at about 15-30% increase in performance over the equive p4. (not to mention price).
The new Supermicro board will be out on 02-Nov with the new Intel Xeon chipset that supports Agp 8x, so I am gunna bung in a parhelia (supposed to be 8x compat) and make a graphics workstation..
Problem with workstation boards tho is coz the chips use 1mb or 2mb cache, dang boards only need DD@266 ram in them.. Not good for overclocking.. I wanted RDRAm PC1200 or something.
