This game has to be one of the best looking games for the PC to date.

Its a HUGE open ended RPG with hundreds of hours of gameplay.
Rather than do a mini review here, I will mention this review (http://www.deviantpc.com/software/morrowind/index.shtml) and the main site for morrowind (http://www.morrowind.com/main.htm).

You might notice in the picture above that it features pixel shading (for those cards that support it), this should be reason enough to take a look at this game, but theres way more to it than pretty graphics.

note: I am not normally an RPG player, I think this game is something worth checking out even if you normally wouldnt.

No not yet.
Looks damn nice though. :p
Might have to look into it after I next week (getting SySteMs "old" Leadtek GF3 Ti200t).
But I also like the look and sounds of Neverwinter Nights.

Yes, I have it and I bought it from Taylormade Computers here in warkworth (local retailer, mate of mine)
He had to order it in for me, but places like www.gamezone.co.nz have it if your local retailer does not.
(online ordering etc etc)

It is a very very nice game. Nice and big ya can kiss a few months goodbye thats if you want to explore every nook and crankie. I have a Mage at the moment in Balmora running around collecting flowers and mushrooms for some apprentice mage oh the joys of going out for a sunday stroll and picking flowers.

quay computers in wellington have it.
i would rather wait untill xbox and get it for that though.
question: can you play offline? in my opinion mmorpg's are only good if they are free, otherwise its a waste of time.

It is single player only dude
Think about it.......
There might be a mutiplayer mod coming out for it, but as of right now it is SP only....

I've never heard of that game until now.. But the thought of a non-3dmark app using pixel shaders is really appealing :D

A lot of us have powerful systems, and morrowind is something that shows tham off nicely. The cities are pretty amazing, architecture is different in each one so you get a lot of value out of wandering around just exploring the world.
Pro-Tip: the view distance slider in the video options menu (in-game) seems to affect framerates more than other settings, even resolution. I have my resolution set to 1152x864 and the view distance slider to about 1/4. (MX-400, 1.33Ghz, 384MB ram)

Don't let KJ hear it has pixel shading.. he won't be able to say GF4 MX's are the best video cards in the world cause no games use shaders.. when he tucks himself into bed at night.. hehe
