No, the ti-4200 is faster in every way shape and form to my knowledge.
I do not see how it could be otherwise.....
There was something wrong with him.
I think he was on crack ;)

There is a small possibility that you you MAY be able to crank up the res and texture sizes on a scene ( NO AA though - then the Ti4200 would win again  ) to the point where the extra 64MB on the Ti500 would just let it beat out a 64MB Ti4200.....

....so the moral of the story is he's wrong :D

Like Silver said the dude was probably on crack - either that or he owns a Ti500 and he's one of those people that cannot accept that there is better hardware than what they have...... There are people like that around........

It's gonna depend on the actual cards themselves.

If you were comparing a 128MB Leatek GF3 Ti500, to a 64MB [insert brand you hate] GF4 Ti4200.

There is something so pleasing about a $500 card beating a card that cost $1000 6 months ago.... :D

If you want a (second, third, forth,..... millionth) opinion averaged, then go to madonion.com, and have a look at the '3D Acelerator Comparison' page in the ORB.

For my rig, Ti500 get's 128%, Ti4200 gets 150% - so the Ti4200 is 17% faster on average than a Ti500.... ;)
