DirectX 9 BETA download

I don't think there will be a increase in gaming performance, and for those of you planning to buy the Parhelia, DirectX 9 will definitely come in handy. :p

Why would M$ release something that dosent work on there OS?Only reason Im not dling DX9 is because my Viper 2 can barely support 8.1 let alone anything else higher.. :-\

I downloaded it about week ago and i have had no problems yet and GTA3 runs heaps better on it :)

have to agree Coolmhz. GTA3 runs heaps better, as well as other games of course. As for problems with it, i havent had any either. Nothing wrong with beta software :)

It makes GTA run like the proverbial baby. Its sharper also. Considering currently it is running on a Duron @ 1089, 128mb SDRAM and a GF2MX oldskool. I do tend to get some annoying pauses while driving at speed, which is always the hard drive reading like a whore. I figure its just the lack of RAM.

Soon however...soon it will run like liquid jesus on ass-gas.

for those that are running DX9 BETA and would like to try 3DMark2001 with it.. here is a regfix to make windows detect DX9 as DX8.1.. there is also a fix to change it back :D
