Well i got my first LCD today from DSE ($45 :eek: ) and i have gotten it all rigged up and i put the 5v backlight on and MAN it's gets too hot for my likeing, dose anyone else with dse lights find they are wayy too hot with the lights on and dose anyone know a cure :)

what size is the LCD?
i didnt know they sold backlit ones!

I played around with the DSEs a while back.. ****in rippoff @ 45 for a 16x2.
It did get hot, but i just kept on going.. you will find that the text will start to fade after its been on a while. I would suggest trying a heatsink with it.. or put it in the airpath of one of your sys fans.
I want to put a plug in for a good LCD supplier - theres a croud in Wellington (i think) that supply a 20x4 for $45.

I got a couple of LCD's from PMB last week, good value their ones look extremely similar in design to the CrystalFontz LCDs heat doesnt seem to be an issue with the backlight on for me.
