Bad ping?

I've been playing BF1942 (which ROCKS BTW), with just one gripe. Although I have Jetstart, my ping seems to be rather low at 140-170. Most others are anywhere from 40 to 80. I have a Nokia ni200, XP Pro, Athlon 1200, 256 DDR, GeForce 2 Ti. The modem works alright downloading, at about 15kB/s. Anyone have the same problem, or any suggestions?

1) who is your isp?
2) where are the servers located that you are connecting to?

really? why are all the server passwrod locked? I can only get on us servers with 300-400 ping

when i've bothered to play i've been getting 40 off the Xtra server...and thats about the best of them....
comparitivly......ok its the only other fps i've ever played on line......cs got mid-low 20's on nz servers....

Try some other games online matey, or if you havent got any other games to play then try pinging in cmd the bf servers.

If you normally get 40-80 in other games then something is screwed, but if the situation is the same for other games then there is something wrong with the connection between you're place and the closest server/whatever.

Try ringing you're ISP, they should be able to help you

the password for the GP server is gprocks

try filtering xtra in server name, there should be 3 32player servers there.
