View Full Version : Four Socket 939 Motherboards Shootout!
I think the Soltek K8TPro-939 needed a bios upgrade to be a better contender.
It says in the review that it was running "BIOS Revision: W1.1"
I am running one of these boards and the new BIOS Revision: W1.3 has alot of fixes, alot to do with the memory.
Im running my 3200+ @ 267x9 and I'm not having a problem. Running SATA Raid as well & the lock seems to work just fine.
Hangon, so what are your new computer specs now? :)

No point in listing them when they change within the week ;) just something temp
Also it seems the new bios I was talking of wouldnt not have been out at the time of this review, so I am sorry. It does make a world of difference though :)

The A8V and Neo2 are real nice boards. If I didn't have this sexeh SN95G5 those would be the 2 options I'd be looking at :)

For the Nvidia boards, SATA lock seems to work only on the ports near the CPU socket. The SATA ports near the 250Ultra chipset have a much lower tolerance on FSB overclockingGood to know...
Yeah on that MSI board the top 2 SATA ports are locked but the bottom 2 are unlocked so your kindda stuck at around 220FSB :( only if your using the bottom 2 though :)

I cant wait for the neo4 and K8N Diamond (SLI) motherboads to come out.

For the Neo2,

Depending on your BIOS version, HDD uses, etc, you may be able to get to 240MHz even with SATA1 and SATA2 plugs.
We've got a review of the K8N Diamond SLI coming up soon.
