HELP!!!!
Well i was installing win98SE and it went all fine.
Restarted then did some other stuff checked for plug and play devices i think, then restarted again then did some more stuff then suddenly...the blue screen popped up saying I have a fatal something.
So I pressed enter and my comp shut down then i tried starting it up again and it wouldn't do anything.
All it does (when the comp is not on but the mains power is on) i tried everything but nothing worked :'(
Then I tried reseting the bios hoping It'd work but still nothing. What do i do!!???
I'm going to leave it for a while and see what happens but i don't know what to do!!!
aaaaarrrrrrrgggghhhh HELP please!!
thanks :)

First of all, is English your native language?
As your spelling and grammar is ATROCIOUS.
Note that i have fixed most of it up.
If you want help, kindly think before you post, and not make it all one huge giant jabbering vomit of info.
That aside, are the rest of the components in your system fine?
Have you checked them with another PC?
Could you explain in more detail exactly what happened.
Think calmly, and slowly about what went wrong, and type it out slowly, and calmly.
Use www.dictionary.com
Secondly, it's win98SE, blue screens on that are a fact of life, but not quite this.
Remove your cmos battery (shiney round thing with "CR2032" written on it), unplug it from the wall, reset the CMOS, and leave for an hour.
Then put the battery back in, put the reset CMOS jumper back to it's normal operational position, then power on the system and see what happens.

I pressed enter and the computer turned off. I couldn’t get it going again so I reseted the bios still nothing.
Ok ill do what you said but don’t you need the battery in to reset CMOS?
Thanx for that help:)

Ok I have a soltek sl-75drv5 mobo if that helps
What happens when I try to turn the computer on is nothing the power light doesn’t even go on no power to the mobo nothing just dead. When I reset the cmos the computer turns on for not even a split second the fans don’t even start spinning the power light has just enough time to flash.
All that happens (when the computer is on or off even it cant be turned on) is that the power light on the screen flashes as long as the power supply unit is plugged in and the power to the monitor is running and the monitor is plugged into the gfx card.

Disconnect all yer hard/cd drives and see it starts up.
You did take out the battery huh?
You did realize that the DRV5 is sh!t eh? :p (I'd take my DRV2 over that)
Taking out the battery is the most effective way to reset your bios (IMO), as all the information is kept safe with the aid of the battery.
Also.... WHY ARE U USING WIN98SE ON A PC SUCH AS THAT!!??.... I mean talk about not using your gear to it's max.

When I try to turn the computer on, nothing happens. The power light doesn’t even go on. No power to the mobo, nothing, just dead. as you have stopped describing the problem, and are about to move onto your other covered methods of problem decomposition, you can start this wonderful thing called a NEW PARAGRAPH
When I reset the cmos the computer turns on for not even a split second. The fans don’t even start spinning. The power light has just enough time to flash. perhaps here would be a good place to make appropriate use of a smilie such as :(
All that happens is that the power light on the monitor flashes. It does so when the PSU we know what PSU stands for, so abbreviate and save space, and reading time for us is plugged in, the power to the monitor is running and the monitor is plugged into the gfx card.
we cant help you until you help us, by making some sense of what you are trying to say  ;)
sounds like you need to check everything and baiscally rebuild the whole computer in the worst case scenario.

When will the madness end?
Ok sorry about my paragraphing, I just was in a hurry and didn’t think much about it.
Il reconstruct my system and see what happens...

We're all trying to be telepathic here, as not actually seeing the snafu makes it hard, But to me sounds like Powersupply. Try another one?

yeh sounds like a dead psu,
try putting a paper clip from the green wire to a black one on the mobo plug, then plug the psu by itself into the wall, and turn the power on, if the fan starts then the psu still works

*boingy boingy*
Sounds like the psu is at fault. its possible its the mobo or the ram, try swapping round the psu with another computer and another stick of ram.
If all else fails, kick it.
hey, it works for me :p
