Hi
i have a laptop p3 1000mhz and it runs at 70 degrees when playing counter strike
i was woundering if this is any thing the get worried about
that's way too much, how are you measuring the temp?
what's the temp of the bottom of the laptop, like if it's below 40°C, that's pretty usual.
One thing also, laptops weren't designed to be under full load for a while,

the temperature of the bottom of the laptop?
get a senfu thermal probe (http://www.overclockers.co.nz/product/sensor/sensor.shtml)
if you are able to open the laptop up and see what sort cooling it has. Maybe put on more thermal paste.
You wouldn't be able to open the laptop up so that you measure teh temp of the CPU with a themistor while it's working??
The thing with MB monitor, is that it might be reading it wrong, eg, what's your temp when you start your laptop up?
Don't get me wrong on this, but I think you might be better of with this cause you can use for measuring voltages etc with it too.
$29.95 from Jaycar,

Multimeter with temp probe, I use it all the time, and works great,
hope this link works: http://jaycarstore.webfactory.com.au/*ws4d-db-query-Show.ws4d?*ws4d-db-query-Show***MJJ-J-057057058066059057-1328***-eProducts***-***jaycar(directory)***.ws4d?jaycar/results(S).html

Mind u lappies are designed to run pretty warm - if they can do that then u don't have to kick in active cooling... tis all bout battery usage, even with power on which is a bit silly (may be tis just with my old p2 lappy :D)

keep the laptop raised up a bit from the surface it rests on... apparently this does a pretty good job of keeping temps stable (makes sense as colder room temp air can get all around the laptop)
apparently (just going from what i've been told by a mate) corks do a pretty good job... so go buy some corks from a home brewers section in the supermarket and duct tape them to the bottom of the laptop :D
