I haven't tried the July BIOS yet, but the '7G' BIOS was a dirty old pig. I got CMOS checksum errors and random reboots, etc... So I just went back to the original BIOS.

I'll give the latest one a go tho. I'll post my 'findings' later.... :D

OK, so I downloaded the July BIOS last night - I finally got it from www.biosmods.com as the Abit website is a little dodgy, and what can I say about it?

Well, unless you are planning on upgrading your CPU to a Thoroughbred then don't bother flashing your BIOS. Yes, it is stable (so far) but it decreases performance in 3DMark2K1SE - I get 150 less marks with everything @ stock. And the SiSoft Sandra memory bench test result was the same as the Original BIOS. I plan on flashing back to the original BIOS later.

So to recap: Unless you are upgrading to a TBred, don't bother flashing your BIOS.

Ill still flash it as its updating the RAID bios from 2.01 to v2.31

hopefully that will run bit faster!
