Has anyone tried the sound damping pads? Just wonderin if they acutally make a big differnce.
Yes I have, and no they dont. They are more useful for adding volume to thin sheet metal to reduce vibration. As my case is reasonably well built (1mm steel) it made very little difference but it was good for padding out my hard drive cage so it didnt vibrate against the front of the case. Perhaps if you had a cheap nasty case they would be more useful.
They also make your case temperature considerably higher. (havn't tried them myself)

Hmm, thanks i'll spend my money on somthing else thank you?
I use them and they do a great job. Case temp only went up maybe 1-2C and it killed all the annoying high pitched noise.
It wont however make your system silent, but with a good set of mats it'll reduce the annoying noise.

Yeah basically it helps reduce vibration it won't make a huge difference but every little bit helps IMO.

Go down to KMart and get some Vehicle panel sound insulation pads. They're cheap and do a reasonably good job of getting rid of vibrations.
