Yeap, LAN.avi the Dunedin lan is back for the 2nd time (finally). The website is still under construction, but here is the link (http://antarctic-cooling.com/) anway.

I'm actually posting here to see how many people would actually be interested in coming? Its going to be 100 people max, still trying to sort out venue etc...just trying to get a rough idea of how many people will be attending. Any out of towners keen to roadie down? It will most likely be a 3 day (2 night) lan, with plenty of tournaments and prizes. Also alot of fun to be had.

ALSO: dates, i need to get a rough idea of when people are available so i can get the max attendance out of this LAN. So post when you have UNI/School/Any type of holidays, say around end of year time frame.

Sorry this thead is kind of rushed so there may be some errors, but yeah. Post away :p!

[edit] i may think of upping numbers if more people are interested..but i doubt it will happen :o

Yeah it turn to **** early in the morning of the last day, but all the people i've talked who came last time seem to be keen to go again so it can't of been all that bad.

Yes, the last LAN did turn to ****, mainly due to a judgement call by one of the organisers. However for v2, there will be a stronger, and more committed organising team. I expect to have the website finished by next weekend.

I need dates~!

Last time a couple of members (who must not be named...giggle) got a "little" tipsy...he managed to stay away from the rigs tho and fell asleep on a couch..but the guy who was lending us the networking stuff decided he would leave in the middle of the night with the network gear because he thought it unsafe. Which is understandable, so the remaining 20 people or so (quite a few went home over night) set up a network with left over switches etc and watched movies and what not.

for neoprint- it will not happen again!

yes i remember that.

do you have any ideas, mr "lets get alcohol", how hard it is to find switches at 3am on a monday morning?

EDIT: and what the heck do you mean by "alas, it will not happen again"?

Well, chances are it wont be before August so that leaves enough time for out of towners to organise something.

Still trying to find a decent venue in Dunedin tho as our last one doesn't have the capacity for 100 people
