LCD's who has them in NZ?

Apologies if there are 8 other threads about this elsewhere but i haven't seen them and "LCD" is too short to search for and I cant be bothered thinking what other terms are likely to be in athread about lcd's.

Who in NZ apart from DSE carries LCD displays? im looking for a Backlit 20x4 either parallel or serial interface it doesn't matter which (or possibly a VFD of equivilant size).

In NZ because it's much simpler than ordering frm overseas especially when you don't have a credit card.

Just send a couple of emails to stores and ask what brand they stock and price etc.
The normally can get some even when they arnt listed.

If you don't mind ordering them from Oz than go to Oatley Eelectronics (http://www.oatleyelectronics.com)

They have a 40x2 for $25 AU. If anyone wants to do a multiple order from them I would be keen.

Jaycar doesn't sell LCD's. I know cause I went in and asked them and they told me to go to DSE...........ohhhhh the humanity.

Oh and if you're nuts like me you can get a really nice "cheap" VFD with Input/Output lines for a mere US$96 hehe

Jaycar does indeed sells various types of LCDs including popular 16x2 or 20x4.. they all support HD44780 which means just wire it up to pararell without having to go through serial controller (thus less software support) but yes, they do sell it.. i wish they sell VFDs at an affordable price in NZ.. but for 96 US.. i would just get a monitor :-(
