a good coment about DSE,

I bet you, you didn't see this one coming, :D

I had one of those multivoltage adaptors and it wasn't working, I opened it, but couldn't see the fault,

so since it had a big Dick Head Smith written all over it I took it back. BTW, my friend works there and was glad to see me and not have to put up with innoying customers, he pointed out this wierd dude who comes in every day and ask some really stupid question, anyway,

I wanted to replace the thing, but didn't have an invoice or didn't know how long I had for (more than a week), so after "wasting" my friends time (about 20 minutes) the boss came up, asked me what is the problem, and I was like "mmmm, well, it like doesn't work, mmmmmm, don't know why (I seriously don't know why), mm but don't have an inovice, mmmm, so can I get it replace, :) ", and replaced it for free and didn't worry about any invoices etc,

so, I got home and the thing works,

sweet, so I have to say that DSE has it's good side,

now I can listen to my CD discman without battries, :)

my mate returned a faulty parallel cable (i was with him at the time) and it took them about 1/2 an hour to refund the money, he had invoice, receipt and everything, then at the end he had to sign all this crap. =/

wow,

generally, people bi##h about DSE, how it's real bad,
and mind you,
my friend was trained not to replace without invoice etc,
but then the Manager steped in,

it pretty much comes down to the person who you are dealing with.

yeh thats true, people are individuals.

and if you are new to the job you really dont wanna get in trouble with the manager :)

I returned 2 HP printers to DSE (one in 1996 and one in 2001), and I say they have good services:cool:

My return was for something i picked wrongly - so my fault. Nothing wrong with the product - they still refunded it. U would see that with privately operated business - that the beauty of it... the guys behind the counter has lil vested interest :D

Granted that their prices can be higher than other places - but most of the time the have what u r looking for in stock... kidda why i buy from OEM computers - just 5 min from me.

I returned something i bought on credit card and they did some weird back credit onto my card and i had to swap my cc again and pin and sign and it was a big mission, i thought that was a little weird - couldnt they have just given me back cash?

For returning big items they are pretty good, but for electronic components they suck. We used to use them at work but gave up because half of each order was always out of stock and they always got at least one item wrong. Jaycar on the other hand still havent got it wrong yet.

Can't give cash back with credit card returns... it's not the shops fault, it's the credit card companies that make the rules.
